Seriously, it’s been forever and a day since I’ve last posted. Not much going on really. Played some hockey and witnessed some of the worst officiating ever. Worked a lot, LOVIN my new job. It’s great to be a productive member of society again! Other than that, not much exciting going on. I’ll try and think of something else later. For now, I just wanted to get something down, I need to stop slacking.

Warning: Contents under extreme pressure
This is a warning to all of you soon to be married couples out there. I thought it was no big thing, no more of a party than I’ve attendend millions of times. Well I was wrong. I am a fool who did not ask for time off before the wedding or after. Most of you probably are smart enough and already have time off planned. This means my warning is of no use to you. I however did not think I could possibly be so exhausted and feel like I have so many things to get done. I’ve partied many times and had more energy in the days following. I am drained, and with working it’s hard to get to banks, insurance companies, yada yada yada places where names need to be changed, accounts need to have people added, insurances need to be adjusted. It’s insanity. Don’t get me wrong though, the wedding couldn’t have gone any better. It was the most fun I’ve ever had and I’m so glad all you fiesty-ites could be there to share it with us. I’m thinking by the weekend after fosters party I should be recovered and back to full speed. Until then I forge on, a megaperson among mere mortals. Workin hard and enjoying life. Hopefully to see most of you this weekend where I will attempt to defend as Foster’s Classic Beer Pong Champion!

Arrive, the Megaperson
This is my last post as a solo person. Today I merge my powers with that of another and become a Megaperson! With terrible powers to both destroy and bring peace. May we use our new found abilities for good. Woe the people who cross the Megaperson for it’s vengence is swift and complete.
Okay, just thought I’d make some craziness before everything goes down. I got a chuckle out of the 2 kids in “Kicking and Screaming” who team up to form a Megaperson and thought to myself, “Wouldn’t it be cool if regular everday people could be like planeteers and form superior beings by letting their powers combine” I think there was a cartoon or something. GO PLANET! I’ll write again soon with my first post as a Megaperson

Workin’ Man
I’m back in business!! I now have 2 days under my belt at my new place of employment. It feels great to be a productive member of society again. They had a welcome sign waiting for me when I got there. The office went out for lunch and the boss picked up my tab. I had a company coffee mug stuffed full of goodies and wrapped up. Brand spankin’ new workstation with 2 - 19″ flatscreen monitors. What a wonderful place!
Let’s compare to my old place of employment. On day 1 they weren’t even expecting me. They didn’t have a computer for me. There was no welcome, glad to have ya. This past saturday I was woken up at 9:30 in the morning by my old boss. He just wanted to tell me he was shafting me on my profit sharing account and that nobody from the office was coming to my wedding anymore. Class act. There’s what 8 years of service gets you. They lay ME off and have the nerve to give me the old “don’t let the door hit ya” routine because I found a better place. Oh well, I’m happy. I got 6 months paid vacation (unemployment) a big raise for my new job, better benefits, and a company that celebrated my arrival. I suppose I owe them a thank you card for making this all possible.

End of an Era?
My acute case of unemployment may soon be at an end!!! With 2 interviews at one company under my belt, and a high likelyhood the job is mine. A private interview at another company, just for me, no open interviewing or accepting resume’s. Just upon recommendation an opportunity arrises like a phoenix from ashes. Let’s take a quick look back at the era of freedom for me.
… Video games, DVD’s, sleeping, reading …
Wow, was I ever lazy. Time to get back to work though and become a productive member of society again.

Russ Lives!
Yes, it has been a long time since I’ve last posted. This is for many reasons I suppose.
1) I haven’t thought of any crazy ideas or photoshoped anything up recently
2) I haven’t done anything interesting
3) I generally don’t like posting about daily life unless something mesmerizing occurs, which it never does.
In light of the doldrums that my life has fallen into in recent weeks due to my extreme case of joblessness I’ll tell you all what I’ve been up to anyway.
Pretty much I’ve been living a dream. If not for the fact that I’m nearly out of money I’d say this was the greatest time of my life. I’ve now been on vacation since january 20th, where a day before my birthday I was emancipated from my daily duties as a draftsman/network administrator. Now that the weather is getting nice it’s truly uplifting. Sadly I don’t really have anyplace to go or anything to do about it.
This gives me plenty of time to waste away with video games. I’ve dabbled in Final Fantasy 3 for the Super Nintendo (A true classic!) I believe when last I checked in on that adventure Terra, Edgar, and Bannon were racing down the river Lete to reach the village of Narshe.
I’ve also spent far too much time playing Star Wars: Empire at War. Rest assured, I’ve now been sober of this game for 10 days!! With the help of friends and family I hope I can make it to 11
In my free time I’ve also been reading occasionally. Currently it is Star Wars: Republic Commando: Triple Zero. A rousing look into the lives of elite clone commandos. If you think it’s hard telling some twins apart, try telling the difference between millions of individuals who look absolutely identical. Lots of intrigue regarding cloning from a more personal aspect. I have to say these republic commando books are some of the best I’ve ever read.
Over the last 6 weeks I’ve had the extreme pleasure of blistering through 4 1/2 seasons of Stargate SG-1 courtesy of Curt’s DVD collection. Without a doubt a top 5 of my favorite shows all time now. I think it may even have cracked top 3 status. If anything can be held responsible for my broken addiction of Empire at War, it’s Stargate.
Hockey has still been a tremendously fun time each week. Our team has one loss with one game left to go. In first place we look forward to proving ourselves in playoffs next saturday. This reminds me of one thing I failed to post on however. A couple weeks back we had a team fight. I pulled a dude of a teammates back and had my hand clamped on his face so hard I can’t believe I didn’t crush it like an egg. I truly “hulked” out for a second there and had to calm down to let go of his face. ahhhhh good times.
Beyond all this dinking around that may have you all thinking I’m the laziest person alive. Which is untrue, Bob Barker is the laziest person alive. Okay, probably not, but isn’t fun to ride Bob Barker? I mean, the guy is a zombie! In all honesty this is the cleanest my apartment/room has ever been. I am completely organized, clothing, paperwork. Boxes all neatly packed. It’s been my life’s finest accomplishment I must say. Afterall… there is no finer accomplishment in life than accomplishing nothing well. I think that’s how the saying goes… eh humbug. Who knows? Back to Stargate folks.

My sales pitch
You know Millen is aching to do something dumb. So here’s my pitch to get it out of the way early. Come on Matt, you know you want this!
Random people I want to party with
On the first of what could turn into a long standing idea for posts I’m going to talk about random people that could be really fun to get wasted with. Today’s Random people goes to, drum roll please. . . . . . . . . . The Burger King advertising team!
Reasons I want to party with them.
1) Scary Stoic Benevolent Burger King (SSBBK) costume
2) ‘Big Buckin’ Chicken’
I don’t know what they’re smokin’ or drinkin’ but these people have got to be a blast to let loose with. If nothing else maybe they can hook me up with free BK. Hats off to you Burger King Advertising Team. Your freakish, nonsensical comercials have warmed my heart and delighted my soul. Keep up the good work.
Rent-a-Russ: Henchman for Hire
During my laid off stint I’ve realized I should attempt to use my god given gifts of being ‘large and in charge’. If you, family, or friends should happen to need a menacing presence, then write me. I am available for guard duty, escorting through dangerous crowds, and even delivery of sensitive materials. I also have a certificate as a grade II ruffian. This enables me to break thumbs or give minor beatings to collect on debts that range from $50-$200.
If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire.. Russ

NEVER! get excited about the Lions
This is just a mini-rant. I admit it. I have been foolish enough to be excited by some of detroits offseason moves. All I have to say is Shaun King. Shaun King? Why? What help is that? What in gods name? I hate the Lions. It just goes to show me that any of what ‘appears’ to have been a good move so far will only result in yet another 3-13 season next year. One things positive to look forward too on this note, hopefully 3-13 this year will be enough to get Millen fired. Ugh
