I remember hearing something awhile back about a Where the Wild Are movie being made, and I was skeptical of how a live action adaptation would work. Today I saw floating through the Internets this leaked clip, and you need to check it out. Even if it is a pre-production, the special effects are great. This could be fun!
Michigan. Mid-February. Temperatures in the teens, with an average of about 20F for the past week. And the Dairy Queen in Charlotte has opened. Yeeaaaaah.
Who caught tonight’s premier of Ford’s two-hour commercial….er, the new Knight Rider? I haven’t seen a cargasm like that since GM’s Transformers movie last year. And who knew that the Ford Edge could hang with a Mustang GT in a car chase?
All in all, I give it a solid “meh”. There’s the original theme, so that’s cool. Decent chase scenes, but they’re ruined for me by the gratuitous focus on the Mustang Cobra emblem, and that they zoom in on every friggin’ Ford vehicle (which is almost every one in this fantasy world) during it. Bad guys which are at once ruthless killers and yet strangely inept at their jobs at the same time. Way to hire the best anonymous crime lord. But it also had the Hoff at the end, too. So who knows….maybe I’ll give it another shot since they had to establish a lot of background for this one.
Personally, I’m still waiting for the Knight Rider / Airwolf crossover event.
On a related note, I happened to finally watch the movie Death Proof this weekend, which stars Sydney Tamiia Poitier – who also happens to be the FBI agent in the new Knight Rider. Whoa! If you haven’t seen it, check it out. It’s an intense, awesome movie. Tarantino rocks.
I’m out. Michigan State basketball this season is officially overrated, sloppy, ugly, and any other number of horrible adjectives. High hopes in the beginning of the season have turned to reveal a young-playing scared team that for some reason just can’t get it together. Izzo keeps talking about playing for the tournament rather than the conference, but f-…March is gonna kick their ass unless something drastically changes.
It doesn’t help that my interest level is barely there anyway, what with being able to see only a fraction (not even half!) of the games – thank you, Big Ten Network. Good luck everyone…I’d like to eat my words, but at this point I’ll see you in 2009.
Holy cow, where have I been? Anyone else notice Ryan Miller in some recent Amp Energy Drink commercials?
Thank you Gizmodo, for taking me down memory lane celebrating 50 years of LEGO. Check the link for some of their top sets of all time. I think the Black Monarch’s Castle and the Black Seas Barracuda are my personal favorites from way-back-when.
Is it bad that I may actually look forward to children just so that I have a legitimate use to have LEGOs around again?
I managed to see Cloverfield this weekend and it was awesome. I’ve never watched Lost, and only ever a couple episodes of Alias….but between his latest and the trailer for the upcoming Star Trek (I don’t remember the rule…is this one supposed to be a good one?), I’m geeked.
Proof that if you combine *anything* with Legos, it will be completely awesome:

Wiiiiiiii!
Less taxes and more spending power? No penalties for actually saving your money? I’m just sayin’…..what’s your FairTax calculator say?
Yeah, I know, I’ve been MIA hardcore on here for awhile. I promise to update it, and really do have some ideas I want to get going in the next few weeks…..but, for now I want to share a new trailer for The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. You seeing this, Ken? Are you still alive?
Man, I loved these books, and remember being excited about the first movie…but have to say I was slightly disappointed. Not with the story per se, but I just think the Lord of the Rings trilogy set the fantasy movie bar pretty high; I kept comparing the production of Narnia to that of Middle Earth. Maybe I’m a special effects snob. But damn, if the trailers aren’t impressive!
