Can anyone explain the weird slots of tomorrow’s Thursday night lineup?

8pm-9pm: My Name Is Earl

9pm-10:07pm: Grey’s Anatomy

9pm-9:31pm: The Office

9:31pm-10:01pm: Scrubs

I’ll be downloading CSI since I don’t have enough tuners to record everything.  But what’s up with the 1 minute overtimes and whatnot?  Is it to throw off DVRs?  It’s gonna work out this week, but there are other times where the overlaps make it so I’m unable to record something (one show will technically still be on when another should be starting in a different timeslot).

Somewhat related, Jen watches (and I’ve got setup to record) Private Practice, which runs 9pm-10:02pm.   Two minutes longer?!?

  1. Specifically, the DVR has problems with the Wednesday lineup:
I want to record Private Practice (9p-10:02p), Life (10p-11p), and South Park (10p-10:30p). I have two tuners, but get a conflict because PP runs over, making it so I can only record one show in the 10p block. I swear they’re doing funky times to mess up people’s recordings. What the heck does two extra minutes gain you?

    Viva la BitTorrent!
