As soon as we get back into a market where we can actually watch local Michigan State sports (as opposed to only Notre Dame or Indiana or Purdue no matter what else is on), now that might not even be an option. Regarding the newly announced Big Ten Network:

The network launches in August. It will run 24 hours a day and feature at least 35 football and 105 men’s basketball games next school year, along with non-revenue sports, coaches shows, a studio “SportsCenter”-like program devoted to the league and other features.

ABC and ESPN will continue to broadcast Big Ten games, but the Big Ten Network will replace ESPN-Plus broadcasts that have been picked up by local stations.

So if you don’t have the Big Ten Network, you’ll miss at least two MSU football games and several men’s basketball games this year.

They have a deal with DirecTV, but none of the local cable providers have signed on yet. Come on Millennium, get on the ball!!
