Where is the television?

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and is looking forward to an excellent New Year!

Today’s question is, where has all the new television episodes gone? Specifically, what has happened to the Thursday night lineup? We have My Name is Earl, The Office, Scrubs, CSI, and Grey’s Anatomy (the MythTV box is burning up!), all with strong seasons, and most of them absent of new episodes for the past few weeks. What is preempting everything? Is it part of the new craze airing new episodes for a few weeks (or better yet, back to back new episodes for a few weeks) taking a break, then coming back for the season finale in a couple months??
