Recently I’ve had a number of movie trailers come across my desk:
First, we have Rocky 6, or officially, “Rocky Balboa”. Ummmmmm, yeahhhhh. I’m not quite sure what to make of this. One one hand, Rocky is awesome. On the other, Rocky 5 sucked as one of the worst movies ever. On the same hand, Sylvester Stallone is pushing what, 90? And he’s supposed to be believeable as a boxer coming out of retirement to challenge some up and coming young boxer? Riiiiiiight. Is George Foreman anywhere? I dunno….I guess we’ll have to see how it develops. December 22 of this year, we’ll find out.
Next there’s the new live action Transformers Movie, coming July 7, 2007. Whoa. Michael Bay directs, of “Bad Boys” (I and II), “Pearl Harbor”, “Armageddon”, and “The Island” fame. Hmmmmm, guess you can’t predict from that lineup…..but it’s bound to have action, though. But back to the Transformers. The trailer seems cool, and I’m excited to see what else they have. The rumor mills are going all over the place as to what Autobots and Decepticons will be in it, and how they’ll be changed from the original cartoons. Hopefully they don’t stray too far.
The other day I checked out online the Spiderman 3 trailer, too. I think this is playing before Superman or the Da Vinci code or something? I don’t know….I haven’t seen a movie in theaters since I think X-Men 3 and MI:3. Anyway….that looks awesome, too. I’m still trying to decide what I think about the Venom look. The one in the trailer looks sharp, but I’m partial to the comics where Venom has a huge open mouth full of fangs, etc. Chalk up another one that I’ll have to wait a year to find out what it will be like.

I stumbled upon your writing recently and have found it very enjoyable.
I felt I should Email you after your latest blog about trailers. If you have time, check out my new website –
http://www.hiddenflicks.com/
it tracks what trailers are in theaters AND what movies (both new and old) have codas tacked on after the credits. Take a look, I’d appreciate any input and contributions and assistance in getting it up and running.
Again, keep up the good work. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks.

A couple things: First, live action transformers? I don’t think that can be beat. Incredible! Second, B (whoever you are) that’s a pretty nice site you’ve got going. Keep it coming!

My thoughts on Spidey 3 trailer. I reserve hope that when looking at the spider-man in black costume that they haven’t really showed us “venom” yet (even though I know venom is the symbiote there-by being venom even when with peter). Hopefully it’s just peter before giving up the symbiote and it joins with eddie brock who becomes the big-mouth bad-ass. Now that my nerd rant is over I give you a link to photo’s of Bumblebee from the new transformers movie. Screwed already! He’s a sportscar? How hard to make him a VW bug?

Good point, Russ. I actually just read the same thing – that this movie is just the introduction of the alien symbiote and the period where spiderman is the “black spiderman”. Eddie Brock does play a part, though (Topher Grace?!?). One mention on a site said that Spiderman 4 would have Venom and introduce Carnage. That would be awesome.
That is stupid retarded about the Bumblebee thing. Seriously?!? A Camaro? Nevermind that that’s a sweet-ass Camaro (is that the next-gen one? Reminds me of the new Mustang), but Bumblebee wasn’t the hotrod sports car. He was the friendly fun-loving jokester. He’s a damn VW bug. Bah!
And B, props to your site – it looks good! Here’s hoping it grows. It just needs more people to add things…sorry I can’t help with the Indiana movies, I just don’t get to the theaters often enough. Good luck!
