I get my share of email forwards. My family sends them. My friends send them. Some are amusing, some I’ve seen before, some get investigated at Snopes, etc. All in all, I probably don’t get so many that my inbox is overstuffed, and there have been some gems (I first saw the Chuck Norris stuff from one at the office!). Recently there have been a few “get to know you” questionaires. that Jen has passed my way. These tell you to fill them out, and send them back to the sender, as well as send them on to other friends. Normally I just fill it out with something funny for Jen, but don’t pass it on, as I am slightly embarassed to bother everyone with it and spam them. So, why not take it one step further. Heh, I’ll post the latest one here….if anyone wants to follow along, copy and paste the questions in the comments, etc. Yeah, I’m a dork. Maybe I’ll make a new category for “Forwards” and post all the ones I get from time to time, maybe with comments, too. :-) Here’s one from this afternoon:

Welcome to the 2006 edition of getting to know your friends. What you are supposed to do is copy (not forward) his entire e-mail and paste it onto a new e-mail that you’ll send. Change all the answers so they apply to you, and then send this to a whole bunch of people including the person who sent it to you. The theory is that you will learn a lot of little things about your friends, if you did not know them already.
1. What time did you get up this morning? Alarm went off at 6:45…I think I actually got out of bed around 6:50

2. Diamonds or Pearls? Gotta go with diamonds. (I’ve omitted my pearl comment :-P )

8. What food do you dislike? Mushrooms. Olives.

9. What is your favorite CD at the moment? I think the last CD I bought was either Lynrd Skynrd or Rancid. I recently downloaded and am listening through some CunninLynguists cds – so far I like it. Favorite CD? I’ll go with my burned CD of favorite MP3s (150 songs or so?) that used to be in my car.

LOL

15. What color is your bathroom? The walls are the crappy off white apartment walls, with WEIRD ORANGE STREAKS smeared down the walls. What is it?

16. Favorite brand of clothing? Mostly buy Old Navy, but gotta love the Silvertab jeans from Levi.

17. Where would you retire to? Not South Bend.

18. What is your most memorable birthday? I don’t really recall any super awesome birthdays. I think I prefer them low-key. There was one as a kid where I got a Lego pirate ship I wanted and me and some friends
stayed up building it. That sticks in my mind, but I couldn’t tell you when it was. Eh, oh well.

19. Favorite sport to watch? College basketball, pro football when fantasy stuff is going on. I used to be a huge hockey fan but for some reason I don’t catch/care about it anymore. Maybe once playoffs start I’ll start watching the Redwings again?

28. Any new and exciting news you’d like to share with us? New? Exciting? Do you know me?

30. How are you today? Bored. I should be working though, and there’s as ton of stuff for me to do. But this is a diversion.

34. Do you enjoy your job? Eh, it’s a job. That pretty much sums it up. I don’t think it’s what I want to do for a long time, but it could be a lot worse and it pays the bills.

35. Favorite book? I think I’ll go with the entire Lord of the Rings trilolgy, plus the Hobbit. Those 4 books, when I read them were nothing short of magical. I need to reread them.

  1. I like how you have to say, “I omitted the pearl comment.” Now people know that there was a pearl comment and can probably guess what it was…silly boy!

  2. But then it is left to their imagination, and I technically didn’t say anything incriminating! Silly girl!

Ack, I see the fonts on this are completely hosed, too. I will have to fix that tonight….

  3. I can’t read this. Fix it! HAHAHA, pearly pete.
